I was prescribed Finasteride for a hair loss (also called male pattern baldness) in 2014. I was very upset with the way the company had responded to my request for help with my hair loss, as they said that Finasteride was the best drug in the world to treat hair loss. However, the drug is now available at a much lower price, and I cannot imagine using Finasteride without it having a lot of side effects. The fact is that most hair loss people who take Finasteride will be suffering from side effects like erectile dysfunction and decreased libido. These side effects are usually mild, and will not affect everyone.
I have a few friends that have lost their hair. They have been using Propecia to help them grow new hair, and they have been experiencing some side effects. They are concerned about this, and are taking Propecia at the recommended doses, but it is not available as a treatment for hair loss. They are also taking their own money. The only other option is to consult your doctor. I would love to help out the family, and would recommend what they can do to make hair grow again. My advice is to talk to your doctor, or your local hair loss specialists. They can be a good resource for this type of thing.
